Our Next Monthly Meeting - October 7th: Craft Night. NB: December's meeting will now be on Wednesday December 9th
Looking for your next great read and even better company? The Arundel WI Book Club is one of our most active and social groups, perfect for anyone who loves getting lost in a story.
As you'll see below, we explore a diverse range of books, ensuring there is always something fresh on the menu. Our meetings, held roughly every six weeks, are known for their lively conversation and occasional friendly debate—which usually sparks plenty of other tangential chats over a drink and some nibbles. Whether you’re a lifelong bibliophile or just looking to get back into reading, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
Reaction to this book was mixed. Most of us agreed that, while the narrative was compelling, Menon's style was distracting. The deliberate fragmentation of the narrative was, at times, frustrating and rather too neat to be entirely convincing. Overall, we scored it at 5.7/10.
At our meeting in September we'll be discussing Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler (Headline). Described on Amazon as 'The extraordinary, prescient New York Times bestseller - a modern classic about a young girl fighting for survival in a post-apocalyptic world', this novel receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from all the major publications.
